The final trade shows of 2018, a global birthday party, avoiding Thanksgiving traffic and running half a marathon - November kept us on our toes. Read last month’s highlights below:

Trade Shows & Partner Events

November started off at Trimble Dimensions which took place in Las Vegas, Nevada this year. ALKers had the chance to attend more than 600 sessions for industry professionals and used plenty of networking opportunities to connect with other experts in the field. We also presented across several industry sectors on our platform to show how it can relate to more than just transportation.  The Expo featured not only solutions from Trimble, but a wide variety of products and solutions from partners.

Our European team exhibited at Honeywell’s “Experience Connected 2018” in Mannheim, Germany. The event was focused on the future of the workforce, specifically the power of intelligent supply chains, optimized workflows and empowered employees.

A couple of days later, our British ALKers attended Descartes’ partner event in London, UK. Visitors to our stand learned about CoPilot Truck, CoPilot Pro and ALK Maps.

At the end of the month, we exhibited and presented at the ScanSource Opportunity Tour in Reading, UK.

Transport & Logistics Industry Focus

Leading up to the busy holiday season, it was time to take a look at one of the biggest industries we serve: Transport & Logistics (T&L), specifically Carriers, Shippers, and 3PLs. Chances are that the packages you will find under your tree this year will have seen a truck or delivery van from the inside. The T&L sector keeps the wheels turning - both literally and figuratively. We took a look at what’s important to T&L companies and how technology can help them and their customers.

How to Avoid Holiday Traffic

As our social calendars (and our stomachs) are filling up, so are the streets around us. An increase in personal and commercial vehicle traffic and adverse wintery weather conditions caused congestion and bottlenecks in many areas. Road traffic reached a peak around Thanksgiving and will do so again before the holidays in December. We had a look at traffic predictions for Thanksgiving and put together tips and tricks on how to avoid road congestion.

A Cake and a Half Marathon

Together with Trimble offices around the world, we celebrated Trimble’s 40th birthday in style with cake and an addition to our wardrobe. Check out the Princeton and London office in their new new attire from Trimble:

However, some of us earned our cake more than others. On November 4th, a few brave ALKers from the Princeton office took on the Princeton Half Marathon. Their hard work definitely paid off.

Quality Driven

The people of a company define the fabric of success. In the second instalment (see part 1 here) of our blog series “Quality Driven”, we shined a light on how Kristen Meseroll, our Human Resources Specialist, contributes to ALK’s success. Visit our blog page to read more about Kristen and what it’s like to work at ALK.

We wish you a wonderful start into December and the holiday season. Please subscribe to the blog or follow us on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to find out how we celebrate at ALK.
