Rain or shine, ALK and Trimble’s UK pro cycle team made it out on June 23, 2016 to bike for a cause. Joining forces to take part in a series of challenges to raise money for a variety of charities, they kicked it all off with the CBRE Property Bike Ride. Twelve riders from the UK including three of ALK's very own, David Quin, VP Consumer Applications; Giovanni Cattani, Support Manager; and Brina Watkins, Senior Accountant, tackled challenging routes around the Surrey Hills to raise money for the Mind charity.
The Mind charity is a UK based charity created to provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Through their campaigning they are able to offer support to those in need as well as raise awareness across the UK and Wales for a better understanding of mental illness.
With the Mind charity in the front of their thoughts, the ALK and Trimble UK team hit the road following a horrific night of torrential rain and winds. The roads were in appalling condition with parts of the course completely submerged or covered in slippery debris. However, when the chips are down and the sky darkened, the ‘can do’ attitude of the team shone through.
All of the team members (with the exception of one who experienced 4 tire punctures) completed the ride and were elated to hear their efforts raised over £1000.
